McGinley’s Beautiful Rebels

It's kinda magic how these African butterflies flutter about the tattooed torso of Bradley Soileau and the candy floss-colored hair of Charlotte Free: Set to the soulful gospel of “If I Had A Little Love” by the Majestic Arrows, this short movie instantly drags me into the scene. Admittedly, it doesn't reveal its purpose at first sight - but it's Ryan McGinley's interpretion of Edun's Spring/Summer 2012 campaign. Founded by U2's lead singer Bono and his wife Ali Hewson in 2005, the fashion house rapidly established itself as an important voice in contemporary design. But besides that, Edun's intention resides in sustainable fashion through trade and community building initiatives in developing countries like Uganda and Kenya. Bono and Hewson describe their fashion line as a for-profit business with the aim of creating a global fashion brand, making beautiful clothing whilst committing to developing trade with Africa and encouraging others to do the same. Edun is based on a belief that style should have substance and while it has always sourced globally, as its business grows so does its production and work in Africa. Thereby, it serves a as a model for the fashion industry on the positive change it can make.

Why did you pick butterflies for the Edun campaign?
I’m endlessly fascinated by the grace and eloquence of the butterfly. Like them, we are all on a long journey where we encounter endless turns, shifts, and conditions that cause us to change. The butterfly makes us realize that our journey is our only guarantee.

Were there some entertaining moments on set?
My camera was captivated by the graceful chaos they created. What I enjoy most while making photographs is a surprise. Something that happens that I can't anticipate, it's like magic. Butterflies are unpredictable and that's what made the day fun.

What is your casting process like?
Casting is truly one of my passions. I spend a lot of time looking for people to work with. I have a full time casting director at my studio who finds me people who are beautiful in an interesting way. I'm constantly shooting nudes in my studio to find new subjects I can work with in different capacities.

Where did the Beautiful Rebels theme come from?
I suppose Beautiful Rebels is a nod to [Leonard] Cohen's wonderful novel Beautiful Losers. Rebelling has always been part of my DNA, photographically and in life. The people I cast in my photographs are a representation of my own spirit. Just like Cohen I'm trying to fuse sexuality with spirituality within in my work.

Marni's budding designs for H&M

It's been almost three weeks now that I announced H&M's collaboration with Marni. Back then, I posted this video by Sofia Coppola about what was going on behind the scenes while making the new H&M commercial. Now things get a little bit more concrete: The "Marni for H&M" images have finally been released - including womenswear, menswear and accessories. It was clear from the beginning that this will be one of H&M's most coveted high street collections ever: The designs ooze Consuelo Castiglioni's eclectic elegance which is why I rejoice at these quirky printed silk shirts, contrasting trousers and metallic wooden-heeled shoes.

Crystal Renn for Sports Illustrated

Admittedly, I took to Crystal Renn straightaway. As a plus-size model she was an example of the industry’s changing attitudes towards beauty and she raised hope for so many overweight individuals. But last year, Renn came under criticism due to her massive weight loss. In return, the former plus-size model blasted back on an interview with Ford Models where she explained herself:

"A lot of people wanted to point their finger at somebody. They wanted to find a conspiracy when there actually was none. I feel pressure probably more than any place from the public and the media. I think by placing a title on my head—which is plus-size—and then the picture that these people have created in their mind about what plus-size actually is, I basically fail you just with that, as I couldn’t possibly live up to that.”

I really get her and her feelings. But her latest shots for Sports Illustrated which reached the public lately really blindsided me. I mean, there is no reason why Renn shouldn't be a SI-model, but it's sort of weird. Or did you imagine her to be a swimsuit model for a sports magazine? I didn't. And although I believe that photoshop made a good job of it, the results turned out to be great. Check out the whole campaign.

Happy Valentine's Day with V Magazine

As today is Valentine's Day, the Parisian fashion stylist Simon Gensowski asked me to do a post on his latest collab with Justin Wu and V Magazine. And since he is a Cologne born guy, we just have to stick together, so, of course I support his doing. But nevertheless, the video turned out to be amazing. And although James' music and the poses are quite indecent, I do love its flippancy. Unsurprisingly, Wu did a great job yet again [rememeber his fashion week lip-dub clips??]. All in all, the duo definitely sweetens my Valentine's Day. Yours too?? [By the way, the males look a million dollars, don't they??]

A night full of frenzy and excess

When August Castell-Castell enters the dance floor, he always keeps his camera handy. The Munich trainee is obsessed by partying which is why he regularly pulls an all-nighter. With his snapshots he captures the nightly delirious moments full of sweat and frenzy. And he preserves the fleeting night for eternity.

Undaunted by his modest beginnings, the 32-year-old gained attention with his website lately. On http://www.augustcc.com/ he regularly publishes his snapshots - not only for friends, but also for a wide public. But instead of foregrounding grinning party people, he conveys atmosphere and the wanton mood of the night's ecxess.

Thanks to his splendid talent, he didn't remain undiscovered for long. Munich's municipal museum has recognized Castell-Castell lately and dedicated an exhibiton to him. Since Friday, visitors can admire his photography at the local museum, St.-Jakobs-Platz 1. To me, his exhibits are really worth a visit.

Yep, I know I should better do some macroeconomics, bury myself in my studies and pore on statistics - but the hustle and bustle at Berlin Fashion Week last week still keeps me on my toes. The massive spectacle at Brandenburger Tor makes every fashionista's heart leaping for joy, doesn't it? And due to the fact that it has already come to an end, I wanna draw a final stroke by way of a very last review.

I decided on JULIAANDBEN'S runway show so as to duly celebrate the end of Berlin's MBFW. Granted, the snapshots beckoned me to do so. True to the motto "I know that you want me", which is the collection's title as well, Julia Heuse and Ben Klunker designed a real masterpiece. Both of them studied at the prestigious Berlin design school ESMOD, where they later on founded their eponymous fashion label on graduating in 2006. Since then, JULIAANDBEN have striked a balance between commercial and conceptual, classic and avant-garde by means of mixing glamour with a unique Berlin street style.

"I know that you want me" is exactly, what we are craving for: Lots of cuddly & low-keyed knitwear, which creates a perfect mix of casual and elegance. Their design challenges conventionality due to boxy, oversized cuts with lots of draperies. Only at second sight, the collection reveals itself with tie-dyed looks and duck-tape which adorns some high-heels.

Unforunately, the bad wheater conditions thwarted my plans to present you nice shots, which is why the fabric wall had to pay for it. Nevertheless, the snapshots turned out to be amazing and I think they pretty much captured the last impressions in Berlin.

MBFWB: Hien Le - The Laotian Genuis Kid

At the moment, he is one of the most likeable and admired up-and-coming designers at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin: Yesterday, Hien Le presented his new collection for FW 2012/2013. The Lao designer exhibited a truly puristic combination of balmy colors like camel and off-white for women and blue shades for men. As always, Le persuaded the audience of his discreet cuts. Besides concentrating on clean cuts and the subtle application of details, he consequently maintains his claim to manufacture clothing that combines diligent design with accurate workmanship made in Germany. This time round, he succeeded again with minimalistic silhouettes and sorbet colors like mint and peach.

His rise began in summer 2010, when Hien Le launched his fashion debut collection for S/S 2011. A few years back, he completed a training as a clothing tailor in Berlin & he worked for the French “Marie Claire”, Designer Veronique Branquinho in Antwerp and ideal-trade show, Berlin. These pursuits finally triggered his sense of fashion, which is why he decided to study at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin in 2008. And now, he is our new shooting star on the fashion sky. Kudos!!

MBFWB: Odeur's unisex fashion

This photos are one of the last impressions of Berlin Fashion Week: The two models present Odeur's latest collection for FW 2012/2013. The label Odeur was founded in Stockholm in 2006 by Petter Höllström and Gorjan Lauseger and it has rapidly spread to 17 countries with its range of jeans, outerwear, accessoires and fashion clothing. This time, Odeur focusses on unisex cuts with muted colors in grey, wine red and black & draperies which break the straight cuts. To me, it would fit easily among the big avant-garde stars of Paris, so all in all, it's a successful final for MBFWB. "For the fashionable Berliner Scandinavian labels are somewhat the holy grale of fashion. Why do you think Berliners rate fashion from the North so high?

Perhaps because of the simplistic yet playful and characteristic silhouettes.

What made you decide to have your first show presentation in Berlin this year?

We have been present in Berlin the last couple of years and now feel that it’s time for us to show the whole concept of Odeur.

Your fashion shows in Sweden are always very atmospheric and dramatic. What can we expect from your studio presentation in Berlin?

We are always trying to tell a story with our collections and that’s what we are gonna do this time as well. Expect sone ” Temps de Voyages”.

Give us a little bit of a teaser of the new collection. What is the most important piece of it?

MBFWB: Kaviar Gauche's vicious virgins

It was a harmonious blend of avant-garde and wearability: Yesternoon, Kaviar Gauche's models tottered over the catwalk in visions of white, chiffon and lace. And as I saw the first looks, I instantly locked them in my heart. True to the motto "Vicious Virgins", Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl staged a wonderful show with variations of light and shade and mystical seeming models. As yet, Kaviar Gauche is my personal favorite at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

If Kaviar Gauche have their way, FW 2012/2013 comes in with a high degree of transparency, vivid yellow, black color accents and flounced dresses. Fischer-Roehler and Kühl presented lightly dressed models, who were dressed in bridal couture and ready-to-wear pieces. Figure-accenting flared pants and ample skirts completed the collection. Another noteworthy detail: Kaviar Gauche's well-known quillings made way for spiky ornaments which were embroidered on white bustiers. To me, the designers made a very good job - what's your opinion??

Augustin Teboul's thread of ariane

This Wednesday was one of those special moments at MBFWB you'll never forget. Berlin's KOW Gallery was whreated in mist with rose fog, crowded out with hipsters and women dancing to Meat Loaf on "magic-moment"-pedestals. Some models were breathing "I love you", or just nodding while others were leaning on the wall turning their backs to the audience: The presentation of "The Thread of Ariane - A Trip through a mental labyrinth" by Augustin Teboul was surely a highlight. This theatrical installation evolved in close collaboration with scenograph Zana Bosnjak and acted as an appetizer for the coming FW 12/13 season.

From the outset, Augustin Teboul stands for an exclusive, avant-garde and yet mind-blowingly feminine look. This time, the masters of surrealism succeeded again: The new collection is both, fragile and strong and it perfectly underlines Augustin Teboul's conception of sophisticated designs. Once again, the 32-part collection is a rediscovery of femininity with a post-romantic touch. And as usual, the design duo focuses on luxurious, clear-black cloth.

When high fashion meets experimentation

The first time I stumbled across Blænk was at Paris Fashion Week. Back in September, the German Design Duo, Silke Geib and Nadine Möllekamp, presented their debut-collection in the fashion capital. Four months later, Berlin Fashion Week is raring to go - and Blænk gears itself up for exhibiting its stunning creation.

The label was founded two years ago when Geib ran across Möllekamp. Both, working for Victor& Rolf in Amsterdam, engaged their sympathy for each other which is why they decided to cooperate. By now, Geib works in Berlin while Möllekamp still lives in Amsterdam. Uncommon but it seems to work out.

Nevertheless, it's clear that both of them have a substantiated education: Geib studied at the Paris Esmod School. With her final Menswear collection she even ranked among the finalist of the "14è Festival International des Arts de la Mode Hyères." Moreover, she worked for Maison Martin Margiela and J. Lindeberg. Möllekamp, the second half of Blaenk, studied at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

Their first collection is coined by romantic, maiden influences which interact with elaborately designed details. Draperies, precious fabrics and feminin cuts consort with unusual embroideries and plastic inserts. My opinion: Très chic Mesdames!

Louis Vuitton's Cruise Collection 2012

In my humble opinion, Louis Vuitton has squandered its reputation of late. Although I've never known the true promise of the French apparel, it goes against the grain for me that almost everybody brags about a LV-bag - mostly simple forgeries which have no bearing at all on the prestige brand.

In the meantime, Marc Jacobs has poured oil on troubled waters. He definitely succeeded in abandoning the bourgeois image of Louis Vuitton: The new video lookbook provides evidence of it.
With LV's Cruise Collection for 2012, Marc Jacobs shows himself at his best. Pursuant to LV, the new collection is feminine, sophisticated and deceptively sassy. The sneak peak is inspired by 60's and 70's Parisian cinema, created in collaboration with muse Sofia Coppola, the embodiment of a free spirited woman, and model Arizona Muse. But although she got musically accompanied by Metronomy, I have to admit that not all of the designs are deeply moving me. Sure, Marc Jacobs knows his stuff, but I disrelish wearing pyjamas in broad daylight

The rest is quite presentable. According to LV, this year's must-haves are bold patterns, accessories and strong shapes. In addition, Marc Jacobs presented some animalistic designs like turquoise snakeskin shorts and blue zebra accessories. Some whimsical prints of skyline views and the Eiffel Tower stroke me, too. 001. After all this christmas indulgence and enjoying the dolce far niente over the high days and holidays, it's time for me to report back. I really had some great weeks within my family circle and I finally got accepted for this year's journalistic internship at "Süddeutsche Zeitung", one of Germany's highly run newspapers. I am really beside myself with joy to have the opportunity to estivate in Munich this year!!

002. Besides all this sense of delight, I need to get back to the grindstone. As the semester comes to an end, I am overwhelmed with work. On Friday, I started learning statistics, but there is still macroeconomics, public law, politicial theory and history of political thought waiting for me.
So I am definitely snowed under with work. In addition, I have to author my first manuscript about parental maintenance. Phew!! But to answer Bob the Builder's "Can we fix it?" - Yes, I can! At least, I hope..

003. At the very end, I got a surprise for you, which I already announced last year. In cooperation with stylefruits, a social-shopping-platform, I'll raffle off a bag by David Jones . Lagerfeld launches new masstige line

Since Karl Lagerfeld stopped showing his signature collection on runway last year, he sort of took a back seat. But now he's back in the public eye with his new collection which will be available as of January 25. His coming line, named "Karl", is an 100-piece masstige women's collection priced at about $95 to $450 which is very low-budget for Lagerfeld. His intention:

"I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that ... Now I am feeling we are ready for the right job — the way to do things right in a modern, unusual way.”

In spite of the cheap rate, Lagerfeld abides by his design principles. The new collection is mostly targeted at teens and women in their early 20's. Therefore it's a mix of street and rock designs, leather, silvery jeans and cocktail dresses with plunging backs. Just ♥ it. Fortunately, the whole collection will be purchasable on Net-a-Porter. I am really thrilled and I can hardly wait to see Lagerfeld's latest masterpiece. So, maybe I can intesify your anticipation with this little video, starring Sui He and Anja Rubik.

Braided hair against bad hair days

I dare say that all of you know the problem of bad hair days. They're the bane of our lives, they're dreaded, unpredictable and always tedious. Sometimes, when I look at myself in the mirror and I see this scarecrow staring at me, I could hit the roof. But what to do with flat, weighed-down hair? Fortunately, it's winter, the perfect time to braid your hair to hide it under a woolen hat. I love this look, especially, when I am in a hurry and I need a quick fix for my shock-headed look. Like today. Optional you can wear a fish tail or a five strand braid. Or you can dress your hair like Ivania. What is your favorite look to cover up bad hair days?

TRF Lookbook: Edgy and utterly stylish

In the last years, it has always been the same routine. Almost before the year draws a close, several fashion houses start slapping out their Chrismasy collections. Same this season, how should it be any different? But before presenting you this year's solemn outfits, I attend to ZARA's new TRF Lookbook. I mean, there is more than a month left 'til Christmas. And the November collection has much going for: It's easygoing, edgy and utterly stylish.

The spanish retailer's latest collection is both, modern and edgy. Once more, ZARA succeeded in creating unique and timeless pieces, like my beloved bow tie blouses, biker jackets, boyish jeans, breezy skirts, mannish blazers and an assortment of grunge inspired plaid shirts.

Mixed with those studded biker boots and the model's messy hair, the collection really perfects this easygoing look.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

If we recall the past, we mostly see nothing more than snap-shots in front of our inner eye - some family celebrations, first day of school or our playground love. The residual remembrance became blurred in the course of time which reminds us day by day how time flies. Irina Werning was tired of letting life passing by unhindered. For this reason, the photographer grabbed her camera and channeled it into a time machine to capture memorable moments - the hour of birth of "Back to the future" which rapidly turned into an overnight sensation.

Soon, StumbleUpon and the rest of the blog-o-sphere catapulted her project into the big, wide world. But Werning only gave a shrug, she seemed relatively unfazed, maybe slightly overwhelmed, by the response her photos have generated. False modesty?? Sure, since her photos are really breathtaking. And the latest collection, called "Back to the future 2", doesn't fall short of BTTF 1 at all.

The idea behind Werning's project is quite simple though. Her describtion: "I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today... A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future." And so she did, and actually does.

The Fantasy Issue

Wonderland Magazine has long been renowned for its expressive covers. Lana del Rey, Carey Mulligan or Sienna Miller - all of them already adorned the coveted front page. For its current issue, wonderland mag booked the youngish Charlotte Free, who is sought after for her unique pink hair color "People always ask me, ‘What possessed you to dye your hair pink?’” she tells The Daily Beast. “I used to always get shit for it. It’s kind of strange that now, all of a sudden, it’s very accepted. And it’s not just accepted—it’s everywhere.” And right she is. After Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, Free seems to be the next victim of this pink hair craze - with good cause as her height (she’s only 5-7, which is short by fashion-industry standards) throws a monkey wrench in her plans. But with her new hair color, Free is in great demand, which is why Wonderland didn't want to pass up the golden opportunity to work with her.

Pinterest is one of those magical places where inspiration stops at nothing. Don't know if you came across it yet but to me it's a really great source when I have a mental blank and desperately need some inspiration. It's an online pinboard where you can share your thoughts but foremost pics with others. I would say it's something between Flickr and Tumblr. One time you're logged in, you can like, comment and repin the things you love onto your own board. So, it's really meant to inspire you while you're foraging for a special word or phrase in the searchbar. I like.

Showroom: H&M SS 2012

Although I am quite stressed out due to college and mock newsroom, I work round to post a last time this week. I know that I bandied a lot about H&M in the past but there are just four days left 'til H&M presents its next collaboration with the Milanese label Versace. Accordingly, the display windows are already crammed with it; same procedure as every season and I am really tired of it!! Maybe it's just 'cause I take no stock in all these collabs (remember Lagerfeld and Sonia Rykiel who sent the fashion world into transports of delight during the past seasons?) It's just not my cup of tea which is why I don't hype it as much as many others do ever and anon. But what's really newsworthy is H&M's new SS 2012 collection!! It's a stunning creation with articles which pretty remind me of Monki's current fashion line which is not bad at all. H&M newest coup de theatre is more classy & it seems like they're finally coming of age!!

Hugo Boss x Miami Horror

To stand out from the crowd isn't quite that simple - especially in this tough music industry. There are hundreds of thousands musical talents trying their luck to impress the unimpressive audience ready to be discovered by budding producers. So, either you are dogged by bad luck and sink into oblivion or you got great fortune like Miami Horror: The Australian electronic band from Melbourne now collaborates with Hugo Boss, which belongs to the top ten best selling clothing manufacturers in Germany.

The band got chosen due to their talent of interpreting already existing clubmusic in a new and influental way, reports kinkimag. Weekday's colorful freshness

I don't know how but the Swedes always throw me a curve. Every season they resort to their voguish bag of tricks. This time, Weekday caused a stir with their new Summer 2012 collection which got presented at German Press Days. Lots of long silhouettes, sparkling accessoires and the well-known bohemian shoes caught my eye, which is why the little sister of H&M scores a lot.

I have to admit that some articles of cloth really take some getting used to - I mean, cycling tights or shiny materials are a bit out of the ordinary for most people. But to me, they definitely got the potential to be THE summer trends in 2012 [although some fashionistas already had the heart to wear them publicly this season and collected some killing glances in return]. Another revival: winkle pickers, which rather fall in the category of the no-go's; at least if you'd ask me. Beauty still is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, the odds-on favorites are Weekday's jewelry and the bright colors. Or what do you think??

Ending with this year's fall set styled by Carine Roitfeld, it seems that the current Chanel campaign will be the last one for Freja Beha Erichsen. Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of the French Vogue and Karl Lagerfeld reteamed last weekend at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, to shoot the new campaign for Spring 2012 - styles "about athletics and the sea, very modern, sportif and in black and white,” announced Lagerfeld. If we give credence to Fashionologie, Joan Smalls (left) and Saskia de Brauw outstripped their model colleague Erichsen, who will no longer be fronting the brand.

Werelse - a bit too cagey for me

The whole fashion world has been wildcatting for a while now about what will be behind the new project of Andy Torres, Carolina Engman and Chiara Ferragni. Besides this long shot, it's certain that the girls of Style Scrapbook, Fashionsquad and The Blonde Salad are worth their weight in Gold - which is no different this time 'cause they know the concept of "haste makes waste". I'm bursting with curiosity about Werelse and it seems that I am not the only one whose interest got piqued: Nearly 10.000 fashionistas are already following the new fashion start-up on facebook! And although the secret isn't yet disclosed, they show subtle hints with this uploaded video:

Guess, you can't make head or tail of it either. So what's Werelse about? A new online shop? A fashionable flat share? The official statement doesn't really helps me on:

Before taking weekend off, I got a real bombshell for you. Monki Online Shop launched on the quiet yesterday afternoon!! Great news for all of you not living in the northern states of Europe, such as Sweden or Finland, as well as Germany, Hongkong, Denkmark or thr UK. Unfortunately, you can only pay with credit card at the present. Nonetheless, the little sister of H&M got sale on exchange for 14 days, a helpful means in terms you're indecisive! Another interesting fact: It seems like COS would also start an online shop (at least if I interpreted Monki's terms and conditions rightly): “If you want to do this, you must send back the goods undamaged and unused in the way that is described under “Returns” section in our COS/Monki online shop”. I'm totally thrilled!! Can't hardly wait anymore.

Preen equals a Change of heart

To tell the truth, I abominate falderal, draperies and quillings. All the bells and whistles are just nothing for me, much to girly and just needless decoration to prescind from the acutal cut. But Preen by Thornton Bregazzi brought me around this year. The duo graduated from Winchester school of art and began working as freelance designer. In A/W 1996 they launched their first collection which cleared the way for their individual look - cool and desirable with an injection of raw rock'n'roll.

The main inspiration for the collection came from the work of author Virginia Woolf. "We were looking at colors and the elements of colors and talking about florals and how to do floral in a new way, and we're reading Virginia Woolf and it's all about time traveling and changing genders," explains Bregazzi. "So it all somehow came together."

These adopted innovations are foremost reflected in Thorton Bregazzis pixelated-looking pastels with citrus tones and feminine details. The hairdo is worth mentioning as well as it perfeclty emphasizes the look. The whole collection pretty reminds me of the glory 60s - ruffled necklines and hems, white lace and nipped waists tell a thing or two about it. Altogehter, I admire Preens handiwork, although I acutally don't like these maiden looks.

As I listened to Jay Z's "Empire State of mind" ad nauseam, it's sort of a welcome change to see it reinterpreted by some models who obviously have a ball with roaming through New Yorks neighborhoods. Granted, some of them look pretty slimmish but that's not really contrary to expectations as they're NY models. Anyway, I like the video and that's all what counts.

Rodarte says it with flowers

Although New York Fashion Week is already over, I cannot deny myself from posting about Rodarte's SS 2012 collection. I took advanced art in school, so it's an absolute must for me to comment these designs. Who'd have thunk that Vincent van Gogh delights us with a fashionable revival these days? Anyway, the parallels between van Gogh and the Mulleavy sister's collection can hardly be overlooked.
America's new fashion darlings have hitched their wagon to the Impressionists as seen on the show, sometimes pixellated and sometimes exactly like van Gogh's sun flowers or his starry night. Quite nice and definitively refreshing but foremost unusual for Kate an Laura which are moody and chin-stroking lovers of horror movies and gothic imagery. And even though they' re not my personal favorite, the designs are admirable.

MBFW Roadshow - Where the cat walks

Yesterday's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Roadshow was totally awesome. We arrived at 8:30 pm and the first thing to do was lining up. There were probably hundres of fashion addicts waiting to be admitted, most of them were dressed quite nifty. Fortunately, we were put on the guest list so the entry flew smoothly. I was kinda wondering why several people directly ran up the stairs to the top floor but however, as it transpired, the catwalk was errected there. Unfortunately, we ran late which is why we didnt't manage it to grab a seat near the catwalk. So we deferred to the queue-jumpers and waited for the next runway show on 9:30 pm. In the meantime, I scarfed down some canapés and drank my delicious, yummy yummy mango-orange and rasperry-blackberry smoothies listening to some groovy jazz.

A fairy long time later - the first runway show had already come to an end - we sntached some front-row-seats for the second show and I walked on air. Just a few minutes later, Alexander Mazza, a German TV-moderator, inaugurated the show. After closing his speech, the runway show started with Alexandra Kiesels collection "Building Block Individuals 6/12/24”/Baukasten Individualisten 12/6/24", monochrome classics in red, green, yellow and blue - primary colors just like Bauhaus architects would have used them. With her collection Alexandra democratizes fashion in a way everybody is possible to find his/her own style and to mix the "modules" in flexible combinations. Not for nothing, Marc Jacobs elected her to win the "Designer For Tomorrow"-Award.

During the course of the evening, nameable other designer's collections entered the stage, thereunder Gant, MarcCain or Roeckl. Moreover, you could indulge yourself with beauty products by Barbor or do some late night shopping until 12 pm. And after I received my give-away bag (with products of Barbor & Shisheido) I drew a conclusion of the night: The Mercedes Benz Fashion Roadshow was totally terrific.

Chloë Sevigny goes brunette

Chloë Sevigny is an it-girl by all means. She modelled for H&M and MiuMiu in the late 90's, got nominated for the Oscars and the Golden Globes. And Chloë is still going strong although she wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Half Polish, half Franco-Canadian she grew up in Darien, Conneticut, as a rebellious child: She smoked like a chimney, shaved her head, ditched school and she did drugs. But she kicked the habit. Today, she is an inspiring muse with a unique sense of style, unassimilated and somehow a freak of nature. But for this reason the whole fashion world loves her - including jokester Terry Richardson who revealed Chloë's new haircolor in his latest photoshoot, a warm shade of brown and not bad at all. However, the question arises if now all Chloë-addicts will follow her idol and dye their hair. But no matter what happens: I like it - maybe just because I am brunette as well.

Shop Review: Weekday

As promised, here's my entry about WEEKDAY. I stumbled upon WEEKDAY months ago, I was shopping when the lurid neon light striked my way. And as I had an open mind, I didn't want to judge a book by its cover.

Given, the shop window was a bit chaotic and off the wall but it kinda attracted me. The clothes racks are abnormally angular and you have to watch out not to bang your knees against the edges - you could do without bruises. The interior design is ultramodern, geometric shapings criss-cross the sales area while a whire netting shapes the ceiling - at least in Cologne, 'cause WEEKDAY leaves their interior design to chance which means every store is unique. They do share certain design elements like colour schemes and tilting angles but in large part they're unique specimen. The Swedish company is primarily specializing in his own brands; MTWTFSS (shortcuts of the weekdays) and Store Made and Cheap Monday. It's quite commendable that they also formed collaborations with young, upcoming designers straigth from leading fashion schools like Carin Wester, Eley Kishimoto or Stine Goya. Nevertheless, I fell in love with the collections. The brand's origin hypothesizes that the fashion has a nordic touch, pretty discreet and many a-lines. Sometimes it's a bit too boyish for me but that's purely a matter of taste. Better, if you get a picture of their style on your own, so here is an abstract:

Trend Observer: Oversized sweaters

Every year it's the same procedure: When summer turns to fall I rearrange my wardrobe realizing that I have nothing to wear in bad weather. As a matter of routine, I rummage through all fashion magazines in order to spot the new seasonal trends. Yestermorning, I got hold of MATCHES new mag which inspired me to do a post about the upcoming trends. The UK fashion editors pictured a chart of color range with the autumnal colors this year, a spectrum from amber, over scarlet, to aquamarine - colors I can chum up with but nothing surprising. So I cased the joint and went to Zara, H&M and Co. which are full to bursting with the new trends: floppy hats, colorful cropped pants, wide sweaters and transparent blouses. Hence, I subsume the upcoming must-haves in my following posts. Trend 1: Oversized sweaters.

Do you remember the feeling slipping into daddy's or your boyfriend's comfy and way too wide sweater on snowy winter evenings? A bagginess look, which is picked up this autumn by many designers. But as you want to look stylish and not down-and-out, there are some rules to observe:

001. As you do not want to look like your granny, you can wear off-the-shoulder sweaters or sequined micro-minis.

002. Don't store your black leggings yet 'cause black is black. The slim fit contrasts well with a wide sweater, so you cut a good figure. Use some super-high booties and the look ist just perfect.

003. Use them to cover the crotch on your extra flattering jeans if you need some coverage.

004. Oversized sweaters look stunning in combination with some pick-a-boo shorts (leather, lace or whatever) - just add a dash of wickedness.

Weekly Snapshot 1

As I am posting throughout the whole week, I lose track myself of what I am actually reporting about. As from now, I try to gather my weekly thoughts, impressions and news in a new column called "WEEKLY SNAPSHOT", just to find remedy. So, this is week 1, and this is what happend:

001. My week was nothing out of the ordinary, just hung out at my editorial office 'cause there was no target date. On Friday, I had an appointment with the governing mayor talking about the final ceremony of Siegburg's "Teenage Reading Club", an American venture to cultivate children's reading interest. A good thing but to tell the truth I thought I was destined for greater things than "reading clubs" but I shrug it off. There's nothing else for it but to wait for the "big fish". And as every cloud has a silver lining I can allow extra time for my blog!!

002. Weekend was totally awesome. As you maybe know, I got a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend, so he visits me biweekly. We went to the zoo, a childish leisure activity I know, but it was very relaxing. Did a contest with my friend Josephine about the best animal shots and I have to admit, she won although we both have brand-new SLRs. But her telephoto was much better than mine, so her closeup views were stunning.

003. This morning, my mum and her husband dropped by as they were on the way to the North Sea, making holidays. We had a delicious breakfast and I was glad seeing here as it's soooo long since I saw here the last time. Hope the have nice days up there, although I kinda reminds of staycation.

Photoshop makes all the difference

Rihanna's new campaign for Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans surfaced quite recently and although I concede her to have a nice body, photoshop has done a good job, tough. With all due respect to Rihanna - I mean the photos are great - she is not beyond being photoshopped as well. At first, I mistook her for being someone else - due to her haircut and the monochrome photography. But the last photo convinced me!! My résumé: That wig took quite some getting used to, but the pics are definitively not bad at all.

Waffels make me happy

Actually, I am sitting here in front of my desk in my editorial office, being expected to drop some lines. But due to lack of business and the ongoing summer slamp, I am condemned to idleness - there's just no work for me, no story I could investigate about. Anyhow, I have to kill time and so I thought about feeding my blog with some posts. And as I promised to report about my faved shopping hotspots in Cologne, I will do so.

# 1 KauF DiCh GLücklich is located in Cologne's Bohemian side of town, called "The Belgian hood". The store is one in eight which are scattered nationwide, with a quite customized concept. They do not only sell glad rags [e.g. Aces of London, Cheap Monday, Sonize, French Connection], the also bake home-made waffels, or sell ice-cream [unfortunately, only for customers in Berlin]. The sales floor is well arranged and - as the name says it all - I really enjoy shopping there.

Andrea and Christoph founded their label KauF DiCh GLücklich out of a clear blue sky by ripping out some scrips. The concept store in Berlin is their flagship, where you can settle in and slouch on the sofas, eating some waffles or ice (I already mentioned that). It's more than a simple boutiqe - it's a big get-together where fashion still takes center stage and it's happening.

The Cologne store is more reticent but still splendid and worth a visit.

Of course, I couldn't leave the store empty-handed. I snatched an auburn school bag by SoNize as I always wanted to get one. I have often tried my luck at several flea markets but I didn't have great fortune. Some years ago, I bought a smaller Primark bag but for all that stuff I carry around with me, it was too small. Lucky me, I espied this one, which was about 60 bucks, so within my budget.

Well, the silly season is over now which is why it's time for me to pick myself up and get into writing again. It's been ages since my last post I know, but to my shame I have to admit that I just couldn't be bothered. Anyway.. there's much to tell since my last entry, but I do not wanna run riot, so first things first.

#1 It's almost a month now that we returned from our holidays on Corfu. We booked a family managed hotel at Corfu's east coast. Although I was seriously ill the first week - Summer flu really wracked me - we tried to make the best out of it. The first days I avoided swimming and we made some city tours. We just had plenty of time to participate in cultural activites which wasn't bad at all. Corfu really has much to go for. The city we lived in was occupied by feting Italians - they drank like fishs and smoked like chimneys. But they didn't rained on our parade, so who cares. After one week, I got well and we really enjoyed the last few days to the full. All in all, our holidays were totally amazing!!

#2 Next thing to report about: My internship. Since mid-August I intern at a German newspaper, called "Bonner General-Anzeiger". It's the second of (I think) five obligatory internships I have to pass to get my graduation certificate at Kölner Journalisteschule. Compared to my first one it's quite laid-back, I got pretty little to do. Most of the time I'm just chilling out and sittle back, quite nice, conisdering the fact that I get an adequate payment for my sweet idleness. Last friday, I had an appointment with the gorverning mayor of Siegburg: He inaugurated a playground for children. Nothing extraordinary. Anyway I have to report about it - nothing doing. But maybe I can acquire a taste for this "small town journalism".

#3 This weekend (surprise, surprise) I went shopping. Although my closet bursts at the seams, I have nothing to wear (and that's not exaggerated). Many of my clothes are outworn, don't fit anymore or don't correspond my style anymore. So, time for shopping frency again. Although I've been shopping on weekdays (due to the fact that I just had nothing to do in my editoral office), I rejoice in going shopping. My next post will probably be about my personal shopping insider tip's here in Cologne. Don't miss it :)

Two sides to a story - and I need a rest.

1) So, these are the final days 'til my last exam at university (unfortunately it's maths, a study course of no earthly use!!). I am pretty stressed out and totally bushed but I can't help it. The last two tests really got me down. I know I won't come out first in my exams but nevertheless I somehow wanna scrape through it. So, keep your fingers crossed for me.

2) Luckily, H&M produced relief. They sent me their new fashion catalog (F/W '11) which I flicked through immediately. They really were my last resort and cheered my up. Although I have to say that the collection is dull and autumnal as usal, they're some unique gems I definitely have to own!! The color palette ranges from ochre to sludge-colored and khaki - so nothing new. Every year it seems like going back to the roots, using the same colors and cuts over and over again. Seems like it's a matter of habit but actually the fashion goes with the seasonal mood which is why the colors are that sober. Well... it's acceptable.

But what bugs me the most is the fact that this summer is pretty wack!! I haven't yet worn my summer outfits - nevertheless H&M has already presented the new Fall/Winter collection. That sucks. Anyhow: Next week I am in VACATION!! I am really chuffed about going on holidays and get suntanned on Corfu. What about you? What's your holiday destination this year?

One week 'til deadline

In light of the rapidly approaching final exams, I really make me mad. They're only seven days left 'til my exam in microeconomics and I am only half done with learning. The trouble is that I am writing politics just one day later. Moreover there is my exam in mathematical methods. Ahhh... I really despair of all this stuff. And they're so many record cards piling up on my desk and all these formulas are buzzing my head too. Know, what I mean? It really sucks.

Posting about it vents my anger at least a bit, so, sorry for whinging. Hence, my day was nothing fancy. I was learning all day long and sat an exam this morning (again a test, I know) but this time it was media law at my school. Nevertheless, I have to recognize that my outfit today was pretty well arranged!! Haha, I know, a man's praise in his own mouth stinks, but this little succes spirits me up. Gonna update my outfit post in the next days when I have some time to spare.

After having learned microeconomics the whole day, I really need to kick back and relax. And these sweeties I found are just perfect to indulge my sweet tooth while maintaining my waistline in summer. They're called micro cupcakes, a concept by Kristy Lynn, and they are made by means of squeeze bottles and nickel thimbles - so, they're no bigger than a quarter. Quite cute and definitely mouth-watering!!

On trendhunter.com, I discovered some really fashionable sunglasses made of lace. Well, they're quite chichi and definitely not suitable for daily use, but a real looker!! The editorial with model Sophie Vlaming was shot by Marcin Tyszka and features fashion from Chanel, See by Chloé and Prada. Every year, thousands of designers present their latest collections, even now - of course, it's Berlin fashion week. No surprise, that you have to find a way to stand out from the crowd: through crass campaigns or out-of-the-way designs. But what striked me to most this season was Hugo Boss Orange's new and cheeky fashion campaign, amongst others.

Having a look on them, the shots definitely lift my spirits and it somehow reminds me of childish horseplay, being full of mischief and having fun hanging out with friends. It's a really felicitous way to showcase their new fall collection. Nevertheless, I feel like Hugo Boss bears resemblance to Diesel's 2010 "Be Stupid" ad campaign. Anyway, the fun-loving models Dree Hemingway and Lily Davidson did a great job and they kinda breathe new life into Hugo Boss collections.

New York is definitely the place to be - at least in the matter of style. Some impressive snapshots were now taken by trendland for Sportsgirl Australia. They hit the road to catch some unique fashion impressions at NYCs hippest neighborhoods - and they suceeded in making me jealous. Compared to Cologne, NYC is more adventurous, more open-minded to cultural influences and totally happening. But unfortunately, I am not there, so I have to settle for Cologne's fashion habits. What a bummer but I am not able to help it. Umm, well maybe it's possible for me to resident there the next year while doing my exchange semester. Anyway, everything at the proper time.

As anounced, the Olsen twins launched their latest venture called stylemint.com on Friday. This new shopping experience permits them to directly interact with their shoppers by giving some personal styling advices. A quite good idea, although it slightly reminds me of jewelmint, Kate Bosworth's jewelry-of-the-month club.

On both sites, the user register as members and can then take a short style quiz where they can get tailored montly recommendations - according to what the store is selling each month (featuring a collection of women tee's starting comperatively low priced (30$). Mary-Kate told WWD: "Ashley and I have created an online experience reflecting our love of style and allowing us to engage with our customers directly, which is an inspiring new way for us to think and create as designers." So, let's see how things will work out..

1.) The day was nothing out of the ordinary, just cramming like usual. This morning, I had to author a company portrait for my journalistic studies, a thing I was quite worried about 'cause there wasn't pretty much time left for writing and I had to observe the deadline (didn't wanna risk demerits). I know, I could have written the portrait over the weekend but my boyfriend called on my and we enjoyed our togetherness - so no space for academic stuff.

2.) Later on, I bicycled to university for an exercise course in microeconomics. I am really working my socks off to understand anything - but it doesn't stick to my mind. I don't get it, seriously. All these digits and graphs are killing me, everything seems nonsensically to me. And although I get additional help at school, the whole math thing makes no sense for me. Fortunately, I am not the sole loser.

This afternoon, we went to Christopher Street Day's Parade here in Cologne and it was totally insane. People went bananas on the streets dancing to booming house beats, having a pint and enjoying their day [click here for pics]. Normally, that's totally okay for me, but there were some creepy partier wearing their fetish/S&M outfits which was quite scary. One of them was put a leather leash on and he crawled on all fours on the street - really takes getting used to, so I spare you the photos of this sight.

But what I actually wanted to post was my latest acquisition, a golden eagle necklace. I already espied it on friday after having dinner at a burger restaurant, but I couldn't buy it due to closing-time. Fortunately, we went shopping within spitting distance on Saturday, so I knocked down. Here my outfit, how do you like my new necklace?

Today, my boyfriend and I went shopping in one of Cologne's shopping malls to snatch some Hollister tees. I have to admit, that I'd never been to Hollister before (as there are maybe a handful in Germany), which is why we queued up in front of that little beach shed. I'd never thought that I'll ever bring myself to wait before someone permits me entrance to shopping but in the end I did it.

Afterwards, we dropped over at Dunkin' Donuts to get some delicious colored sins. They're really easy on the eyes but true calory bombs. Anyway, for once there are great.

Quentin Jones' haunting Time Machine

In almost every fashion era, mixing new trends with old vintage pieces is common usage. Now, AnOther Magazine's fashion editor Agata Belcen and filmmaker Quentin Jones worked together on this awesome but crazy "Time Machine video", a journey from the 16th century until now. The pieces in it are brougt to life with surreal animation, including collage techniques using archive fabrics from the Museum of London and selections of this S/S 2011's collections.

"There is no better place to understand historical clothing than a costume museum. The Museum of London boasts one of the largest and most diverse dress collections in the UK. Since its opening at Kensington Palace in 1912, the Museum has collected clothing and textiles of historical interest connected with London. Its current east London location holds over 20,000 objects which are carefully stored in a darkened space below the galleries. Given unprecedented access to Museum of London's archives, Belcen was able to explore the connections between historic dress and the spring/summer collections. "How a Viktor & Rolf sleeve is the cousin of a 19th century puffed shoulder; how the leafy prints of a delaine dress from 1838 are a colour match to the limes and grapefruits in the Stella McCartney print."

The opening scene showcases a rainbow of shoes, dating back the the 16th century including a pair of red satin brocade slippers, crimson velvet mules and black patent and lace ankle boots. An orange paper leaf printed fan from the 1920s, was a particular favourite of Belcen. It shows a scene of a couple dancing to a minstrel band, in a room decorated with potted palms. "Its colour palette seems so relevant to the season, but it's dated by the attitudes of the time." The selection of footwear is followed by a stream of vintage spectacles and sunglasses dating back to the 18th century, a pair of leather arm-length gloves and vintage hats which feature as hot air balloons.

The pieces were brought to life with surreal animation, including collage techniques using archive fabrics and key motifs such as stars, bananas and rabbits, which reference the print trend from the spring/summer 11 collections. Set designer Robert Storey's simple structures – a cube, a rectangular rail and a large black semi-circle – provide a complementary backdrop to the intricate designs and Jones' animations. Model Katya Konstantinova is seen moving through the 3D Mondrian-inspired frames and the graphic black shapes. Jones particularly enjoyed working with the crinolines in the closing scenes, which formed the bodies of bouncing red foxes. "Their architectural structure was fun to offset and make into an R2-D2-like character, and their vibrant redness is a perfect accompaniment to Katya dressed in a bight orange peplum."(source)

These 8-inch heels are designed for the English National Ballet, inspired by ballerina toe shoes and slated to be auctioned off at the ballet's "Summer Party" tonight. They're with sparkles and fairy dust and Swan Lake-y vibes - and they're is one problem about them: They are just not suitable for toes! (are they??)

Yes, I know I should learn microeconomics - and yes, this dull and drizzly weather is really a fine day for ducks and therefore perfect for cramming for my next exams - 'cause they're quite soonish. I know the saying goes "Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today" but this does not hold good for me. Unfortunately, I procrastinate. All the same, I went to an academical tutorial this morning, altough I could hardly drag myself out of bed. to Anyway... I sweetend my afternoon with my latest acquisition, a DSLR by panasonic.

Of course, they're expensive to purchase (the lumix was on offer, so I had to knock down) but they're really worth the price. I relish doing photos but my old camera always rained on my parade and I couldn't actualize myself the way I wanted to. And so I passed the last hour with shooting my flat. I hope, you like the pics 'cause in future I propose doing posts which are more personal and could upvalue my blog (at least a bit).

It's obvious that nearly every designer gets inspired by his or her faved muse. They're the source of inspiration, mostly models or outstanding personalities. So far so good. This June, W magazine issued a special love affair: between designers and their musician muses. Photographer Max Vadukul captured ten famous designers with the musicians who inspired them the most, like Florence Welch, the flame-haired frontwoman of the British pop band Florence and the Machine, Kanye West, or Yoko Ono. I like the idea of looking behind the scenes and get a clue where all the designers get their inspiration from. But to be honest, I favor the monochrome photos, but maybe it's just a matter of taste.

Leandra Medine recently posted an article about Mr. Kate's jewelry which gave reason to me to report about that unique lifestyle brand [click]. Today, I wanna talk a bit more about Leandra herself, as she and her blog are truly amazing. Within' one year, the New-York based fashion blogger causes tongues to wag with her blog concept: She highlights cloths that so many fashionistas love and guys just abominate, like harem trousers, jumpsuits, big shoulder pads, jewellery that could double as weaponry, and clogs. But altough her styles are out-of-the-way for guys, her outfits catch on.

I really like her definition and how she goes through with her motto. I would have to work up the courage to follow her suit, although I really l♥ve fashion. But many pieces are just unwearable in everyday life (my boyfriend would call me crazy). So, I am no good for being a man repeller myself. Are you??

While browsing the web, I chanced upon Mr. Kate's beautiful jewelry collection. I must admit that I've never heard of Mr. Kate before, which is why I was keen on becoming familiar with it. Mr. Kate is a self-described lifestyle brand for generation Y and Z but X and Boomers totally dig it too! with an emphasis on eco-friendly and on-the-cheap. What me inspired the most was its jewelry, a reflection of the Mr. Kate lifestyle and aesthetic with it’s handmade and truly unique pieces.

Unfortunaley the jewelry is quite pricey ($78 for this dreamcatcher lattice ring), but it's definitely easy on the eyes. Both rings are connected with a simple cable chain. I'm head over heels in love with the collection.

I collected some unique pieces of Mr. Kate's collection. This wallet is off the beaten track:

It's one of my favourite pieces. It's neither a necklace not a ring but these metal wallets are really good for an eye-catcher. This one is called DOLLA DOLLA BILLS Y'ALL , a selected rap quote which is stamped and hammered on it- chosen for their freshness and utmost gangster appeal. More or less, these wallets can be described in one word: SWAG.**More pieces underneath:

I really love the golden bow-ring. It's called The Stylish Wanderer by Mr. Kate presents ‘Le Cadeau’ a two finger bow ring plated in 18k antiqued gold. Le Cadeau is “The Gift” in French, and this truly is a gift for your fingers. But $198?? Come on... Last year, I found a cheap alternative at Accessorize, some bow-earring (fortunately, it was sale and I bought them for five bucks). At the next opportunity, I'll post a photograph of them.

This necklace is small but powerful. By the way, I love the photo. ♥

As promised, here's my post about my recently discovered fashion store called leShop. I stumbled upon leShop by accident, although I walk past it almost every week. So much the better that I finally recognized it. So, let's get down to brass tacks.

leShop opened its gates in 2005. Back then it was pretty unknown but it quickly turned into one of the most favored stores in Cologne. Every week, leShop introduces new collections, mainly Scandinavian designer clothing. Highlights of the year are leShop's parties (twice a year) with Cologne's urban DJ's, Prosecco and very good mood.

Unfortunately, leShop has not yet established an online shop. But this can change from day to day. So all of you not living in Cologne or Bonn may have a chance in future to get leShop's pretty cloths. However, if you want to pay a visit on location, here's the address:

My Thai Chai

Today, my mum visited me and my flat share and we went sightseeing in Cologne. I really enjoyed the day 'cause normally my mum is living far away and time together is quite rare. We discovered a small but beautiful antiques market near the rhine. I was watching out for some cute vintage jewelry but unfortunately, I went away empty-handed. Afterwards, we went out for food at Kitty Chai, a small but well-designed restaurant with delicious Thai food. I had fried chicken and mixed vegetable. I really, really loved it. Yummy.

Last weekend, I found a really cute shiba top by GinaTricot. I l♥ve the color (my whole wardrobe actually looks peach-colored) and it's just so perfect for balmy summer evenings. Combined with a waist belt and gold jewelry it looks quite glamorous but I prefer the casual look with a jeans shorts. How would you style my shiba top, any suggestions? Thanks to Britta, I discovered a new Argentine fashion label called "Aire Molino". It's founded by my friend's exchange student Magali Nuñez and the photographer Andrea Alegre, both are living in Mar del Plata, Argentina. At Córdoba College of Architecture and Design, Magali is studying "diseño de indumentaria, which means fashion design - and I really like the outcome. Model Elizabeth Ball is doing a great job and she looks georgeous in Magali's designs. By the way: The photos are taken in a Argentine coffee bar called "The Archivo" in Mar del Plata - a brilliant ambience to get nice shots: Excelentes fotografias, me gustan todas!!

Hey gals,
I just came across these wonderful, stylish, colored, upbeat, magnificent (maybe I am spluttering) color props by free people. They announced their new colour line via facebook and I couldn't yet avert my eyes of this summerly articles of clothing. On top, they designed some beautiful accessories, which look fabulous in combination with the garment.

By hook or by crook: I want them. Nevertheless, I think they're quite pricy. The blue Costa Besace bag on the left is prohibitive ($448). But the Coral Cluster Ring is definitely a MUST-HAVE. I posted some "color props" underneath, so what's your favorite?

Hey Gorgeous, today I present a new product feature by benefit. I stumbled upon it by accident and I don't wanna deprive it from you.

This Februar, benefit cosmetics launched the new bella bamba face powder in a blazing pink. For 28 bucks you get a shimmering 3D watermelon blush, which I really adore.What I quite like about benefits blush is the golden shimmer because you immediatley get a summerly look without being tanned. And the provided brush makes it easy to apply the blush. At daytime, I always wear a soft pink or a apricot nuance to accentuate my cheekbones. Having an all-night party, I normally use a darker bronze tone. What about you? What are your favorite nuances in terms of rouge?

We love Micky Green! In case you don’t know who she is, let’s start with the basics. Her 2008 debut album, White T-Shirt, was a huge hit with its catchy blend of pop and soul tunes, and she’s just released her second album,
Honky Tonk.

Here she seems to be channelling something that wouldn’t look out of place in the American Pop Art movement, with bursts of colour, and reminiscent of pin-up girls. We’ve certainly all been won over by this amazing blonde and her positive energy.

Fiona Paxton, a London Jewelry Designer, has always created real gems. Her flashy and opulant designs remind me of jewels "of yesteryear". As Paxton is a globetrotter with heart and soul, she is inspired by so many different cultural influences which flow into her designs. The outcome of this is her F/W collection 2011, which Paxton recently presented at London Fashion Week.

Paxton designed some magnificent necklaces, bracelets and earrings with stylistic elemts which have their seeds both in antiquity and Celticism. She runs riot in combining different materials like opalescent pearls with metal and leather. In doing so, Paxton created some real eyecatchers which pimp every casual outift on an instant.

My favourite is the first golden necklace. What's yours??

Re-See: Dior's Fall/Winter Collection

Dior's FW collection for 2011 is absolutely amazing. But it shows that the Parisian fashion label definitively came under John Galliano's influence: Quillings, drapery and crochet work with leather are comforts which Dior didn't create in the past. So, thumbs up for the FW collection although I have to say that Dior already created fur-jackets, fur-bags and fur-collars ad nauseam in the past.
