H&M soon launches its new brand

Although H&M's new shop concept is expected to launch during spring next year, I am wound up to a high pitch by now. As far is I know, it will be called "& Other Stories" and it will be the fourth label besides COS, Monki and Cheap Monday that belongs to the Swedish retail group. Unlike H&M's more polished sister store COS, which offers womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, "& Other Stories" is set to be a women-only affair. So, sorry guys but this time you have to stay out. Unfortunalety, H&M is quite mysterious about what the new brand exactly defines: "& Other Stories is about to bring everything she can wear into one place, focusing on the whole look" a statement released by the group announced. "We believe shoes, bags, jewellery, lingerie and beauty are essential for styling and just as important as clothing."

The only thing we know for certain: The prices will remain as affordable as usual although H&M's design studios in Paris and Stockholm will collaborate. For the rest, H&M answers rater vague what we can expect from "& Other Stories": "Our collections are built around inspiring fashion stories", continues the brand's statement, suggesting that an eclectic offering of accessories and pieces are on the cards. "All our lines are diverse, ranging from masculine tailoring to feminine chic and designed to provide endless styling choices." So, are you as curious about "& Other Stories" as I am? If you want to be up to date, I recommend H&M's social media channels on twitter, facebook, tumblr and youtube.

Marni's budding designs for H&M

It's been almost three weeks now that I announced H&M's collaboration with Marni. Back then, I posted this video by Sofia Coppola about what was going on behind the scenes while making the new H&M commercial. Now things get a little bit more concrete: The "Marni for H&M" images have finally been released - including womenswear, menswear and accessories. It was clear from the beginning that this will be one of H&M's most coveted high street collections ever: The designs ooze Consuelo Castiglioni's eclectic elegance which is why I rejoice at these quirky printed silk shirts, contrasting trousers and metallic wooden-heeled shoes.

Marni X H&M - Behind the scences

Admittedly, I am less than thrilled when it comes to collabs between H&M and the prestigious fashion houses. But what I am quite excited about is the new design collaboration with Marni which will launch March 6 in selected stores. Bold & beautiful prints, to-die-for accessories and feminine cuts restore hope for a chic success. I mean after Versace, things can only get better, right??

Two sides to a story - and I need a rest.

1) So, these are the final days 'til my last exam at university (unfortunately it's maths, a study course of no earthly use!!). I am pretty stressed out and totally bushed but I can't help it. The last two tests really got me down. I know I won't come out first in my exams but nevertheless I somehow wanna scrape through it. So, keep your fingers crossed for me.

2) Luckily, H&M produced relief. They sent me their new fashion catalog (F/W '11) which I flicked through immediately. They really were my last resort and cheered my up. Although I have to say that the collection is dull and autumnal as usal, they're some unique gems I definitely have to own!! The color palette ranges from ochre to sludge-colored and khaki - so nothing new. Every year it seems like going back to the roots, using the same colors and cuts over and over again. Seems like it's a matter of habit but actually the fashion goes with the seasonal mood which is why the colors are that sober. Well... it's acceptable.

But what bugs me the most is the fact that this summer is pretty wack!! I haven't yet worn my summer outfits - nevertheless H&M has already presented the new Fall/Winter collection. That sucks. Anyhow: Next week I am in VACATION!! I am really chuffed about going on holidays and get suntanned on Corfu. What about you? What's your holiday destination this year?

Spring brights beat the rainy days

Spring is still a couple months away, but there's no reason you can't start integrating its key trends into your wardrobe right now. Brights were seen all over the runway from designers like Jil Sander, Prada, and Lanvin. Pull off the look now with a bright top paired with dark tan skinnies and a cozy streamlined coat to add a cool and colorful pop to your Winter repertoire. (via)

Up our street

#What could be more straightforward as inspiration than ordinary people just looking incredibly fabulous? We took a look at some not-so-obvious (but great) street fashion blogs.

Look at me

Russian fashion used to have a slightly bad reputation, but judging by the street looks from places such as Moscow and Sevastopol, the style mavens of Russia are killing it with their fabulous outfits.

Japanese streets

Tokyo is sort of the home of crazy street fashion – who can forget Fruits magazine, for example? For some serious fashion inspiration, take a look at this street style blog showing just how creative people are with their clothes. For sheer audacity and verve, this is inspirational as much for its attitude as its style.

Style sightings

Want to see how people wear capes on the streets of Milan, London or Paris? Style sightings gives each post a theme, from “Heritage” to “The unisex clutch”, an approach which works particularly well when everyone on this blog looks so incredibly good.

Street peeper

For a bird’s eye view on fashion, look no further than this fashion-heavy blog. It covers the whole world, from Stockholm to Jakarta. Photographer Phil Oh often shoots fashion insiders, which gives this blog a slightly more luxurious slant, but the exuberance and joy of dressing up is equally present in the ordinary people captured.

Wear about

Mumbai-based Manou mixes the highs and lows of Indian street life in this original and fascinating street fashion blog. With India being a strong inspiration in fashion this season, why not go to the original for cues on how to update its traditional garb. Natalie Portman wears H&M dress!!

Pregnant Natalie Portman stepped out to the "Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood 2011's Richard Mille Toasts Fox Searchlight Films" fete in Hollywood on Thursday night in a $49.95 H&M dress, Racked reports.

The frock is part of the brand's "Conscious Collections," "an ongoing range of women's, men's, and kid's wear constructed of greener and eco-friendlier materials including organic cotton, organic linen, recycled polyester, and Tencel, a renewable material that's produced with minimal environmental impact" that will hit shelves April 14.

Portman's red carpet moment marks another win for the fast fashion purveyor -- just several weeks ago, First Lady Michelle Obama appeared on "The Today Show" in a $34.95 H&M dress. (via Huffington Post).

Take a look and tell us what you think. I adore it & I gotta get it. ♥

H&M's Garden Collection

While shopping at Primark, I came across H&M's new Garden Collection and I just love it. I immediately fell in love with the khaki bikerjacket (pursuant to H&M it's the new black!!) and - bought it. Besides, I purchased this little gold pocket with a catenarian handle. So sweet.

As I get it, H&M tries to focus more on organic cotton and environmentally friendly cloth, which I consider to be very exemplary. The brand's new collection is inspired by blossoming gardens & colourful prints. I'm really keen on wearing it as it directly puts me in a good mood.

Finally, it's a good feeling to overspend on cloth - I mean, you don't pour your money down the drain, do you? Instead you spare your purse and the environment. These articles of clothing wont be my last ones. <3
