The Style of Oktoberfest 2012

Living in Munich right now, there is no way to be spared from staggering men in lederhosen and well-endowed women wearing slinky dirndls. At the moment, the whole city undergoes a state of emergency in which beer and pretzel are basic food stuffs to survive the Oktoberfest. There is currently so much hustle and bustle, affected tradition and wanton mood that turns the state capital upside down. It's kind of disconcerting for strangers like me but I quickly started to adapt to my new surrounding. It's simply delightful how the whole town is topsy-turvy during these two weeks of excess and brass music.

As this is a fashion blog, I certainly dedicate this article to the Bavarian costumes. Not the way you might be thinking, but rather in a street style way as asos did it this week. They call upon their customers to send in their most creative Oktoberfest-look- and with a bit of luck you can win a voucher. To receive a first impression, they posted some outfits which I wanna share with all of you who cannot visit the wonderful Oktoberfest this year. And all the others: What is your favourite look for the world's greatest festival?

Gold rush

In addition to what I posted on Monday, I stumbled upon some stunning cuffs which I don't want to withhold from you. It's been years now that I bought my first statement jewelry - it was a studded armlet by Mango - but this purchase was the trigger for my weakness for outsized jewelry I guess. I mean, it's so easy to throw on a bold bangle giving any basic ensemble that effortless touch of edge in a jiffy. I regret to say that most of above is high in price but still on my wishlist. In case you don't agree on the price, Grace made a similar DIY for Bullet Cuffs that looks easy enough to attempt. Otherwise, read more for the manufacturer's data.

Get over it

After more than two weeks of blogging abstinence, it's high time to recover lost time. I had lots to do in the past days, as for instance training in video shooting and editing at a German TV broadcaster and a journey to Brussels where we visited the European Commission. To alleviate all that stress, I rewarded myself with shopping. Fortunately, I got hold of some real highlights although my wardrobe is already bulging. But I created some space for this stunning Zara leather jacket and this sleeveless blouse by Asos. Moreover, I acquired that silvery plain chain which goes perfectly with this white blouse. At the end of the day, I caught sight of these awesome Cotton On wegdes which I just had to have. And although it hit me in the pocket, the purchases definitely satisfied my cravings.

These shoes are made for walking!

Since fall is coming, it's time to get your shoe cabinet ready for splashy, rainy days. Of course, without dispensing with the glamour. For this reason, I found some chic and warm alternatives for this dreary season.

Clog Boots

As you know, Clogs were already hip in summer and the designers found a way to transport their fancy look into fall. With gaiters, lambskin and earth-colored they are really fashionable and a must-have this season. Even Julianne Moore is wearing them.

Here, Michelle Williams accompanies Mathilda. This picture was made last year but clog boots are this season hipper than ever.

Now, you rightly ask - where can I buy them? And I got some alternatives for you:

This lovely one is by Ugg - but already sold out. Hopefully, they restock.

They're mainly by asos.com

Rubber boots

I totally agree with you when you're of the opinion that rubber boots are something you need to get used to. They always remind me of my childhood stepping in muddy puddles. But "nowadays" you don't need puddles anymore. With their new designs they're way to stylish to use them only on rainy fall afternoons. Here are some glamorous examples how to wear and team them with your clothes.

Actually, Ashley Simpson looks a bit spooky in her black outfit. But her rubber boots are awesome.

It's getting colourful.

And also many stars demonstrate their extravagant rubber boots look.

Loafers

These stylish slip on shoes are very comfortable, classic and très chic. This season they are designed with a masculine touch.

Kate Moss, for instance, loves her "Jackson Loafers" by Repetto

Or some by Guess

Styled with a pantyhose and fur.

And of course classical penny loafers.

Last but not least: Lace up shoes.

They look a little bit like you are going on a mountain climbing trip but the heels make them pretty sexy.
Katy Perry teams her floral dress with lace-up shoes.

Diane Kruger look-a-like Anne-Laure, a french fashion blogger, looks perfectly in here outfit.

Burberry Felt Fedora Hat, $275, available at Burberry; Deena and Ozzy Tiger Belt, $34, available at Urban Outfitters; Tory Burch Lace-up Leather Boots, $595, available at Net-a-Porter; A.L.C. V-neck T-shirt Dress, $97, available at La Garconne.

So, HAPPY SHOPPING.
